The staff of the Island will make all arrangements for tours, excursions and diving after you arrive. Schedules are usually quite flexible and a private tour/charter is always an option. Should you desire to make arrangements for activities prior to arrival, just let us know. Please keep in mind that various weather conditions may require a change of plans or even a cancellation of an adventure in extreme cases. Fly Fishing
Fly fishing is always a favorite activity for guests of the Island who have their own equipment. Because hundreds of bonefish have made their home around Cayo Espanto, the angler will usually find great success all around the island. The hard sea-bottom immediately around the island provides for unusually easy wading. In addition to wading around the island, guests may hire a guide and boat for some wonderful flats fishing for bonefish, tarpon and permit. Scuba Diving the second largest barrier reef in the world is not to be missed. The Villas is within 15-20 minutes of some of the world's best and most famous dive sites. Private trips are easily arranged or guest may choose to dive with our dive shop in San Pedro. Guest who wish to dive the Blue Hole should be aware that it is an all-day trip usually leaving about 8:00 in the morning and returning at 6:00 in the afternoon. A private charter is available or guests may choose to go with a group from San Pedro. For truly the best diving in the most pampered environment, This beautiful Island of Villas is the place to be. Tacio Badillo, our Dive Master, is available for private charter trips. When he is not on a private charter with our guests he leads our regular open diving and snorkeling trips. To guarantee diving with German, advance arrangements are requested, otherwise, we can not guarantee German's availability...Snorkeling in Hol Chan, Belize's National Marine Park, has been named by USA Today one of the world's top ten snorkeling sites. Private charters to Hol Chan are available or guests may choose to join a boat from San Pedro. Prices run about $45.00 per person for a boat and rentals are available. Glass bottom boats also provide another window to the underwater life below... We now have full services with an on-site massage therapist. Another favorite trip is a day with boat and guide for some fishing, snorkeling and conching (in season). After a morning of fishing and conching, your guide will grill your catch for you on a beach. After lunch, it's back to the water for some great snorkeling, all out fun and relaxing. You can also choose to visit other islands (some deserted and some with villages). Return just in time to watch the sunset and have cocktails before dinner..Tours
For landlubbers, daily excursions to the mainland of Belize offer fantastic adventure opportunities. The Mayan ruins of Lamanai are a must. River trips and visits to inland spas are included along the way. Once again, private charters are also available. Birdwatching
On nearby Cayo Rosario and Bird Caye is an experience for all. These islands are very close and are home to many types of birds. (spoonbill, pelican, frigates just to name a few). The adventure allows guests to walk around and through mangrove. This tour is highlighted by the Belize Audobon Society.
Explore
If you just want to go exploring in a skiff (our name for a 21-ft Mexican-made boat), one of the island's staff can take you out. The trip is always an adventure and full of unpredictability. Deserted beaches, uninhabited islands, beautiful waters and an occasional dolphin can make your trip very memorable. $65.00/2hours, $20/each additional hour.
Picnic
How about a gourmet picnic lunch on a deserted beach for just the two of you? We will send an advance team to prepare the perfect romantic lunch. Afterwards, we will deliver you to your paradise. Stay as long as you like and we will pick you up at a pre-determined time. Or, if you prefer, take one of our cellular phones and give us a call (we are only 10 minutes away). $200.00/couple

Travel To Belize
Guest will fly into Belize International Airport on US Airways, American, Continental or TACA Airlines. Flights are available from Charlotte (3 hours and 37 minutes), Miami (1 hour and 40 minutes), Houston (1 hour and 55 minutes) and Dallas (2 hours and 30 minutes).
Upon arrival guests clear immigration and claim their luggage. Wheeled carts are provided at no charge. Guests are permitted to bring one to two bottles of liquor or eight bottles of wine into Belize per person.
Next, guests clear customs where they will be greeted by a variety of friendly baggage handlers. They will assist you with your luggage once you arrive at customs and beyond. They will do all the lifting onto and off of the customs counters for you if you allow them to. Gratuity for baggage handlers is usually fifty cents - one dollar US per bag. (let them have it all, you will enjoy the freedom) Margie, from the Cayo Espanto Staff will meet you outside Customs. Guests flying to San Pedro, will proceed around the corner to Maya Island Air where they check in for their flight. This airline uses planes ranging in size from 20 passenger Caravans to Cessna 172's. Round trip travel on Island Air costs about $125 US. You can pay with a credit card. We will make all the arrangements for you. Flights are frequent. A five passenger Cessna 206 can be chartered for about $350.00 US (one way). This is an excellent option that can reduce wait times.
The flight time is 17 minutes and includes beautiful views of various islands and the second largest barrier reef in the world (it will be on your right). Keep an eye out for manatee as you leave the mainland and look for rays and dolphins as you get closer to the islands.
Before boarding, ask your pilot to let you know when the island is in view. Just before landing in San Pedro, you will see The Villa Resort,and recognize it from photos). You will be met at the San Pedro airport by our staff and taken via golf cart directly to one of our shuttle boats just a few hundred yards away. You will enjoy a 7 minute ride to The Property.ageyour luggage will be handled for you.

If you have made prior arrangements with the resort International Airport and for transfer to the island via boat shuttle, you will be met just beyond customs. The staff will then take you on a 5 minute taxi ride to the boat and then a one-hour ride directly the property.charge for this service is $350.00 US and is available weather permitting. Our boats can accommodate as many as 15 people.
