Description of Villa - TODI:
The ground floor is unusually light and airy, thanks to the high ceilings, large windows and French doors and open plan construction that incorporates four seemingly separate public rooms into the large square shape of this traditional structure. The first of these rooms is a spacious entrance hall (with WC built in under a large staircase rising to the first floor), that leads through an brick archway into a well-equipped kitchen with Carrara marble counter surfaces, fitted cupboards and a long dining table with room for eight. Through a second brick archway, one enters a sitting room, with working fireplace, library, and comfortable seating. This extends through a third archway into a more formal seating area, with broad French doors opening onto the house?s front garden.
The first floor is accessed directly from either the entrance hall inside the house or via a stone staircase from a side garden. The master bedroom, with its en suite bath/shower room, is enticingly romantic with a four-poster wrought iron bed draped in flowing white curtains. A second double room (which can be made up as a twin room) features a Neapolitan iron bed frame dating from the 1700?s. A third double room has a double bed with wrought iron frame and, if more sleeping space is required, a double sleeper sofa. The fourth bedroom is a charming single room with a bed set in a wooden sleigh bed frame. A separate shower room is also located on the first floor.
In addition to the pool and front garden areas, there is a large, covered outside paved area at the back of the house that is accessed through double glass doors off the kitchen. At the side of the house (accessed either from the back patio or from the front gardens) is a large grassy lawn with pergola over a dining area and space for playing or relaxing in the sun.
Tara nestles in the verdant hills of Umbria about 15 minutes drive from the shop, post and banking facilities of Avigliano Umbro. It is within easy reach of Todi, and Orvieto. It is also close enough to Rome for a leisurely day trip by train from either Orte or Orvieto.
