Description of Little Thatch Private Island:
A 54-acre private island paradise just south of West End, Tortola, set with five guest cottages all leading to the spectacular, handcrafted Great Room, perched atop the crest of this lush, green island.
The enormous Great Room pavilion, which opens on three sides to unforgettable ocean views, offers seating areas scattered with stylish overstuffed sofas, easy chairs done in bright Caribbean fabrics, hammocks, and a dining area which looks out across shimmering seas to the sparkling lights of St. John and St. Thomas beyond. Curved around the southern foundation of the Great Room is the enormous lost-edge swimming pool.
Stone pathways, bordered with tropical landscaping, lead to the five king cottage suites, each with its own flower-filled terrace and alfresco native-stone shower.
A paved road leads down to Little Thatch?s exquisite, white sand beach, fringed with majestic sea grape and coconut palm trees; the West Indian-style beach House at one end features a full kitchen and bar, music system, changing rooms and showers.
A modern dock at the other end serves as the starting point for fun-filled days on the island?s captained speedboat water-skiing, fishing, snorkeling and diving on myriad coral reefs, or enjoying a castaway picnic - or try the island?s sailing dinghies, kayaks, windsurfers and bikes. Badminton, ping pong and a sand volleyball court are also offered at Little Thatch.
