Climate/Topography The rainy season runs from mid-May until December, with the wettest months being September, October and November. A typical rainy-season day is sunny all morning, clouding up around noon, with downpours in the afternoon and evening. The dry season, from December to May, is consistently sunny and warm, but the occasional cold front does blow down from the Great North, bringing a few days of not so tropical weather. Mountains and high central plains are the key features of the Costa Rican landscape. La Meseta Central is a high plateau (three to five thousand feet) running down the middle of the country. The Conchal Campo de Golf is an 18-hole, Par 72, 7,030 yard course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. This is an oceanfront course with beautiful vistas, sweeping fairways and large undulating greens. Rancho Las Colinas Golf and Country Club is an 18-hole, par 72, 6,721 yard course designed by Ron Garl. The Tango Mar Country Club is a 9-hole, par 34, 1,917 yard course designed by Carlos Chac?n. Laid out over gently rolling grounds and across the cliffs above the ocean, this small course offers great play in the tropical surroundings of palm trees and exotic birds.
Dress Description Informal, lightweight clothing is recommended. The days can get fairly hot, but it does tend to cool down at night, to the point where one needs a sweater or jacket. Travelers may also want to bring along comfortable walking shoes, tennis shoes, or hiking boots.

Rental Car Information In order to rent a car, you must have a valid American or international driver's license, be at least twenty-five years old, and have a Visa or MasterCard with enough credit to cover the total cost of the rental (you should also check with your credit card company in order to find out whether or not you can be insured if you pay with your credit card in Costa Rica). Renting a car in Costa Rica is expensive, approximately $320 a week for a compact; perhaps double that for a four wheel drive. The price includes insurance. Fuel is not expensive, around $10 to fill a compact car, $20 for four wheel drive ( most of the rental cars are stick-shift).
