Description of Anséba:
Anseba has been designed to capture the breathtaking ocean views over the sparkling blue waters of the bay of Porto Vecchio, seemingly only separated from the sapphire blue skies of summer by the rugged mountains that are typical of the beautiful Corsican landscape. Set into verdant mountainside and contrastingly built of smooth lines and curves, the villa is unfussily stylish, light, spacious and airy. Attractive use of natural resources such as sea-grass, bare brick, natural cotton and unpainted wood against the consistently clean, white backdrop of the walls gives an element of effortless sophistication, yet they are totally in keeping with the relaxed lifestyle that the designer has clearly intended guests to enjoy. Colourful paintings and “objets trouve” quietly bring this predominantly white room to life. The open-plan living space is arranged with a comfortable lounging area, a formal dining suite and an American-style open kitchen in one corner - all enjoying the magnificent view through the wall of sliding glass doors opening onto an elegantly furnished terrace and the lawns. The loosely curved pool is set into lawn at one side of the house and from here you can enjoy day-long sunshine and the stunning view in complete privacy. A summer kitchen close by is fully equipped for preparing food and dining al fresco, and perfectly expresses the outdoor lifestyle that will surely be adopted by guests here, which would not be complete without the private jetty reached by steps from below the garden offering boat mooring and bathing on the rocks. For 2004, a separate, small studio room is suitable for a nanny or more independent guest, and has a shower room, please contact us if you require this extra studio.
The accommodation at Anseba is all on one level, with the bedrooms accessed via archways from the main living room. The master double bedroom has an en suite shower room, doors to the terrace and sea views. There are two further double bedrooms, one of which has an en suite bathroom and sea views, the other with en suite shower room. A childrens’ bedroom has 2 sets of bunk beds and en suite shower room. There is also a guest wc.
