Description of Procida Estate:
When you arrive by ferry at the harbour called Marina Grande your first impression is of the splashes of colour of the old buildings along the waterfront, and once you alight you are immediately taken up by the ferment of movement all along the quay opposite the harbour, which is a procession of caf?s, restaurants and fish markets. Although Procida is one of the islands closest to Naples geographically, Procida is the actually the furthest removed in spirit, managing to retain intact all of its extraordinary characteristics. La Chiaiozza is on the opposite side of the island, about ten minutes on foot from the little tourist port of Chiaiolella, 4 kms from Marina Grande. The house looks onto the sea and from the garden, via a stairway, you reach a flat series of rocks that give easy access to the water which is crystal-clear. This is a quiet area where you can take pleasant walks along the narrow roads that spread out through the little village and all of which lead to the sea. La Chiaiozza has been furnished with very good-quality, comfortable country furniture and has a nice, well-equipped kitchen. Procida island can be reached from Naples in about half-an-hour by hydrofoil. You cannot take your car, which we recommend you leave in Naples in a guarded car-park. There is a very good public bus service, which means that you can quickly reach every village on the island. When you arrive with luggage taxis are available to take you to your destination for a modest price.
