Upon entering the privacy-gated grounds, guests are welcomed into a wonderland of walkways that meander past reflecting pools and Chinese gardens, through teak double doors to an interior great room which has 30 foot tall, retractable doors that open to the heated lap pool, poolside spa and the yoga pavilion overlooking the ocean and the beach.
The Empress features a harmonious blend of contemporary architectural design and Asian-motif furnishings with all the creature comforts befitting a luxury resort. Her columned porticos, soaring ceilings, custom exotic wood cabinetry, marble floors and marble/granite counters and baths are accented by touches such as a Chinese court gong, a Balinese hand-carved day bed, Oriental sculpture and Hawaiian-tropical artwork.

The Empress at Kaanapali is located in an exclusive residential enclave which contains only six one-acre lots situated within an active resort setting. There is a condominium hotel complex called Maui Kaanapali Villas across the street from the property; two blocks away is the Westin resort; and, the primary Kaanapali Resort hotels (Hyatt, Marriott, etc.) as well as Whaler's Village Shopping Center and its many shops and restaurants can be reached within 3-5 minutes by car or via a leisurely stroll along a paved walking promenade that meanders along the beach and through the Sheraton Kaanapali Resort. From the heart of Kaanapali Beach guests can embark on a sailing catamaran for a snorkel sail, scuba diving, or romantic sunset cocktail cruise. West Maui airport is less than 10 minutes away for easy access to/from the neighbor islands. The recreational activities available within Kaanapali Resort are endless - including the Royal Ka'anapali Golf Course with 36 championship holes - home of the Ka'anapali Classic PGA Senior Tour.
Only one block away is a beach front kiosk which rents ocean sports equipment including surf boards, boogie boards, skim boards, Hobie cats and snorkel sets. During summer months jet skis may be rented in front of the Hyatt Hotel. The charming Sugar Cane Train depot is within walking distance. A convenient beach front restaurant, Castaway, is only one block from the Empress and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a casual beach front setting.
Your on-island concierge, a former Chief Concierge with Four Seasons Hotels, will be available to assist you with all of your vacation planning needs, including activities and dining reservations, auto rentals, catered meals or private in-villa chef service, sailing, snorkeling, boat and helicopter charters, advance reservations for award winning luaus, family portrait photos, in-villa massages and spa treatments, golf tee-times and other pleasures to enhance your vacation on Maui. Guests may schedule golf tee-times, dining reservations, child care, sailing, snorkeling, or scuba dive excursions, swimming or surfing lessons, tours and sightseeing
With sufficient advance notice, and subject to scheduling availability, a private chef is available for hire to grocery shop and to prepare and serve up to three meals per day. You may wish to consider the luxury of having a chef-prepared gourmet dinner served in-villa on your arrival evening! Additional options include the delivery of ready-to-grill complete meals or fully pre-prepared and cooked ready-to-eat meals including salads and desserts.

RATES INCLUDE: Occupancy by a maximum of 16 persons (including children and infants), check-in orientation at the property and light daily maid service (excluding personal laundry & kitchen dishes). The property is fully-equipped with linens, dishes, flatware, cookware, utensils and serving dishes and is stocked with an initial supply of soaps, detergents, cleansers and paper products. Rates are subject to change without prior notice before a rental confirmation is issued.

SECURITY/DAMAGE DEPOSIT: The security/damage deposit is typically refunded 45 - 60 days after guest departure.
DEPOSITS & PAYMENTS: Reservation deposit is 50% of total charges. Deposit is due within 7 days of placing a reservation. Final payment is due 60 days prior to arrival date (90 days prior for Xmas/New Year reservations).
CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY: Deposits and final payments are generally non-refundable unless the property rented is damaged or otherwise rendered unfit for habitation and no acceptable substitute can be found. Pro-rata refunds, less a 15% - 20% fee, may sometimes be made if a reservation is cancelled and the property can be re-booked at an equivalent rate and length of stay but the owner, property manager or booking agent is under no obligation assure or effect any such refund and the specific terms of the rental agreement signed shall apply. The purchase of trip cancellation/trip interruption insurance is strongly recommended.
